SoSyM Best Paper Award - Safety-Critical DSLs

Co-authored with Markus Voelter, Bernd Kolb, Klaus Birken, Federico Tomassetti, Patrick Alff, Laurent Wiart, and Andreas Wortmann, "Using Language Workbenches and Domain-Specific Languages for Safety-Critical Software Development" (Software and Systems Modeling, 2018) received the journal's Best Paper Award.

The paper argued that models built with DSLs and language workbenches are easier to validate than hand-written code, and that the risks introduced by model transformations can be controlled through careful architecture and verification - grounded in an industrial healthcare case study, with applicability to space, automotive, and robotics also discussed.
